The most Mediterranean snow in the Pyrenees

A good choice if you are coming from Girona, just over an hour from the sea and 132 km from Barcelona.

In operation for nearly 35 years, Vallter 2000 is in the town of Setcases in the region of Ripollès. Located at 2,000 metres above the valley of the River Ter, the resort extends over a glacial valley, the Morens-Ull de Ter cirque. It is a prime resort due to its location, allowing a unique and exceptional panoramic view: from the highest point (2,535 m) one can see how the Bay of Roses runs to Cape Creus.

Slopes suitable for all

It is a small and active resort, with runs suitable for all skiers. The lower part of the ski resort is well equipped for beginners, with two green runs to allow fast and easy learning. In addition, there is a cafe and ski school nearby.

Skiers and snowboarders with intermediate to high ability can enjoy the skiable 600-metre drop at Vallter 2000. The resort’s longest run at 3 km is El Xalet, a slope that starts from the highest point, goes under the Jordi Pujol Planella chairlift and ends at the foot of the resort. To cater for the more experienced, the recommended runs are El Clot and Tartera. Both of these will greatly impress high level ski enthusiasts.

Skiing and fun

Vallter 2000 is not just a ski resort but also where freeride skiers and snowboarders can enjoy themselves. The resort offers numerous mountain routes where you can burn off adrenaline safely. Remember that you should always follow any advice given by resort employees about the slopes and you must be fully equipped with an ARVA, a shovel and a probe.

For those wishing to do more relaxing activities, there is also the possibility of hiking, snowshoe tours, ski tours and orienteering. A way to experience to the mountains even closer up.

Learn to ski with friends

Vallter 2000 hosts a large number of school trips that come to spend a few days throughout the winter season. Its location, tranquillity and terrain make it the destination of choice for early education schools to help their students learn to ski. Children attend courses with instructors and at the same time can still have fun with friends from school.

The resort also has a ski club, the Ski Club Camprodon, which encourages people to learn competitive skiing along with the values of the mountains and their snow.
