A quiet ski resort near you

A winter family-oriented centre  with wide slopes and gradients for all levels.

Port del Comte is in the Solsonès region and is one of the most beautiful areas of the Catalan Pyrenees. Just 150 km from Barcelona, 140 km from Lleida and 164 km from Tarragona, Port del Comte is an ideal destination for a weekend in the snow with toll-free roads, no queues for skiing and more than 50 km of slopes.

Improving the resort

In the year 2000, the resort began major renovation works, which still continue today. They keep the same goals from previous years, which involve maintenance and continuous improvement of the facilities as well as protecting the environment.

A new map of the slopes has been created for 2012, which can be downloaded from the resort’s website and includes the latest developments done in recent years such at the remodeling of the top part of the Sant Grau slope and the new Querol kiosk. There will also be a new freestyle skiing area called el Bosquet, with 27 tree-filled hectares, which have been made into a skiable area in order to do off-piste skiing. It is a woodland area with virgin snow, various runs and the undergrowth is completely free of shrubs, branches and stones to ensure maximum fun and safety.

It is imperative for skiers and snowboarders to know where they are going and which run they are going to take (green, blue, red or black). To help them, all slope signs have been updated and are now clearer and more visible. Skiing in Port del Comte is now easier and more convenient.

Snowboard lovers don’t sleep in Port del Comte.

The Snow Park in Port del Comte offers a very unique and appealing initiative for snowboarders: opens at night. Thanks to a grid of lights, snowboarders can continue their practice of jumps and stunts with more than just moonlight. A great atmosphere, hard to resist despite an all-day snowboarding session.

Much more than just skiing

After a day’s skiing, you can also do other activities such as snowshoe excursions or play games in the adventure park, which is perhaps the biggest attraction for youngsters. There are zip lines up to 170 metres, swings, tunnels and nets where they can play safely. There is also a tubing facility, a giant slide which you ascend on a magic carpet that carries you up to the top in order to slide down over a distance of 150 m. This is open in both summer and winter. And above all, you can’t miss out on Snake Cliss, a line of attached sledges that slide groups of people down slopes. It is an opportunity for small children, youngsters and adults to enjoy themselves. These activities are for everyone.

If you visit Port del Comte you will have the chance to see the Pyrenees from the air. Helicopter rides are available to enjoy views of Pedraforca, the Oliana reservoir, the Sierra del Verd and the Sierra del Cadí for example, and you can even make a return trip to La Molina. A unique opportunity to take photographs from the sky with the breathtaking background of the Catalan Pyrenees.

And who hasn’t ever wanted a photo taken of them while skiing? Port de Comte offers the services of a professional photographer who can accompany you during your day’s skiing to photograph you in the virgin snow, jumping or doing whatever you please. And if you give your permission they can be posted on the ski resort’s Facebook page.
