Skiing beneath the stars

This season, the resort in Masella (La Cerdanya), is offering an interesting new activity: night skiing.

Can you imagine doing a descent in the moonlight? On Fridays and Saturdays from 6.30 to 9.30 pm, and up until 1 March, you can ski at night at the Masella downhill skiing resort. Remember, the last lift up is at 9.15 pm. There are 13 illuminated slopes (4 red, 5 blue, 3 green and the Snowpark). In all, 10 skiable km and seven lifts/tows.

A total of 2,008 skiers took part in the La Tossa d’Alp torchlit ski descent.

Where can you ski at night?

You can do so in the La Pleta (2,020 m) area and as far as the Pla de Masella at 1,600 m, with a skiable gradient of 420 m. All of the illuminated slopes are surrounded by woodland. One novelty is the availability of the Davallada red slope, approved by the International Ski Federation (ISF), suitable for slalom races. The Snowpark and the beginners’ area at Pla de Masella are also open at night.

Night time descent at Aparador, one of Masella’s five blue slopes.

See the snow like never before

Over 9,000 skiers and snowboarders have tried night skiing since the start of the season.
