Begin your Christmas holiday with skis

The night of the 24th and 25th of December, Santa Claus will make an appearance in the Pyrenees. However you won’t have to wait until then to unwrap the gifts. This Saturday, the ski resort of Boí Taüll invites its guests to enjoy a very peculiar tasting: wines from the Enate winery and this season’s ski gear from ELAN and HEAD. Moreover, a barbecue lunch will be organized, to help skiers charge batteries while a DJ livens up the moment with music.

Boí Taüll offers ski equipment for testing.

Santa arrives to the Pyrenees

On the 24th, Santa’s first stop will be at the 1.800-meter mark of the Baqueira ski resort, where he will land his dog sled. Next morning he will show up in Beret and afterwards he’ll go to La Molina ski resort where he will be giving away candy together with the La Molina’s mascots, Moli and Lina. If you come to the ticket office dressed like Santa Claus on the 25th, La Molina will let you ski for free on that day.

Competitions

But on this Thursday and Friday, 20th and 21st of December, before the arrival of Santa Claus, La Molina will host the third Memorial Albert Pardo, a FIS-sanctioned competition in memory of a sports journalist, who passed away three years ago. The competition is organized by the FCEH and sponsored by newspaper El Mundo Deportivo. It will include events like the Giant Slalom in three different categories: Senior, Youth 1 and Youth 2 for both men and women.

On Sunday the 23rd, another competition will be held in Baqueira Beret ski resort for the second year in a row. We are talking about the Naut Aran Skating Pirineus, a cross-country ski race that is part of the overall calendar of events included in the Copa España, the Catalan cross-country ski Cup, and the newly funded Copa Pirineos (Pyerenees Cup). The latter will be awarded to one winning team from the three participating countries: France, Spain and Andorra.
