Following in the footsteps of Joan Miró in Mont-Roig del Camp

Every artist has his or her sources of inspiration. One of Joan Miró’s was Mont-Roig del Camp (Red Mount), the town where his father had bought a summerhouse. The painter, set foot on Mont-Roig del Camp for the first time in 1911. He was only 18 and was ill. However, soon got into the habit of walking to the current Miami Playa, where he did exercises.

The Wetlands and Wildlife of Delta de l’Ebre

Whether it’s a weekday or weekend, every day is a good day to enjoy the largest wetland of Catalonia, the Delta de l’Ebre.  For the perfect experience you have only to hope for three things: no clouds, no wind and a burning desire to observe.  Regardless of the conditions, you should be prepared for an unforgettable experience. A Catalan Natural Park since 1986, the Delta de l’Ebre has been gradually adding new observatories to help better understand its biodiversity, and for good reason.  Its near 20,000 acres make it the second largest in Spain after Doñana National Park and the largest wetland in the western Mediterranean after the Camargue (a French Regional Park).

Some ideas to enjoy the summer

When the holidays come, sometimes, all we want is just do nothing. Maybe, get settled into a quiet place, away from traffic and madding crowd and enjoy the view of a beautiful landscape with a fine meal. Casa Angrill might just let you do that. A rural hotel surrounded by fields and oak forests located in Montpol, a small town in near the Pyrenees of Lleida with a population of just over 200. The ground floor of Casa Angrill was built in the tenth century and is the perfect setting for a relaxing vacation. However if you decide to be active, you can easily go hiking, do some canyoning or even practice some archery.

The Montseny, a trip to peace and quiet

Montseny is the oldest national park in Catalonia. In its over 116 square miles you will find not only plant species typical of Mediterranean climates but from others as remote as the Euro-Siberian and Boreo-alpine. Hence the uniqueness of this land, which many consider the most important park in Catalonia. Located only 31 miles from Barcelona, it is ideal for a round trip on the same day. However, if you want to enjoy the Montseny for a longer period of time, there are different lodging options: rural hotels, holiday camp residences, hotels and campsites. There are organized tours for schools, for mushroom gatherers or to learn more about medicinal plants growing in the park. It is also a very popular place to practice extreme sports.
